development by Milltown GAA Club. Situated on the first floor of Milltown Community Centre at Milltown GAA Grounds Sean Doolin Park. Our new expanded gym facility first opened its doors to the public in early 2023. Along with our existing excellent gym facility, the variety of fitness equipment combined with our
very reasonable membership rates make Milltown
Fitness Centre the ideal location for the people of
Milltown, Emper, Moyvore & beyond to work out and hit your fitness goals. Our members can work out in a welcoming
environment, secured for gym members, in a comfortable space with high speed WiFi and entertainment audio/visual equipment also. With flexible opening hours, train at a time that suits YOU! We encourage you to tell your friends, family and neighbours to join and get the massive health and wellbeing benefits from the huge range of exercise equipment available!

As this is a modern, well equipped gym facility, all members looking to use the Milltown fitness suite must follow the following simple steps:
- Register and pay membership. For 2024, adults are ONLY €125, students/over 60's ONLY €60.
- Pay cash or Revolut to the club Registrar Gemma Geraghty 085 133 7943
- Pay online via the official GAA website www.foireann.ie or via Clubforce www.clubforce.ie/Milltown
- Read and strictly agree to adhere to the rules and regulations of using the gym (see below),
- Complete a physcial activity readiness health questionnaire, click PAR Q FORM,
- Complete brief induction training on the proper use of the gym equipment (organised through the gym management committee),
- To access gym, send on your email address to Paul Heduan or Brian Nugent to enable you to gain access for the door entry control system via the Paxton 10 Smartphone Application
- Enjoy using the gym facilities!

Rules and regulations for using gym
- Members of this Fitness Centre must be at least 16 years of age and have no medical/ health impediments to use the fitness suite, click PAR Q FORM to complete medical assessment to use gym,
- Members should never use any of the gym equipment in a manner likely to cause an injury or accident,
- Under 16s are not permitted use of gym equipment unless it is part of a specific programme that has been given by Millmore Gaels Club or Westmeath County Squad and carried out under the direction and supervision of an adult coach who has experience or qualifications in Strength and Conditioning
- Fitness Centre is for use by REGISTERED and PAID members of the Milltown GAA club ONLY, for insurance purposes. You can register on FOIREANN online here or pay registration to the club executive committee.

Cardio equipment in fitness suite - May 2023
Access and use of fitness suite
- Entry to the Milltown gym facility is via a Paxton 10 door access control system. In order to set up access, registered members must send on their email address to Paul Heduan or Brian Nugent following completion of points 1-4 above
- Install the Paxton 10 smartphone application and use the unique registration code from your email to enable the application. This will enable your smartphone to open the door access control system.
- A user log book must be signed by each member on entering and leaving the fitness suite. Please note any issues or concerns with faults with gym equipment, housekeeping standards or other gym issues in the log book please. We rely on OUR members to keep standards high in OUR club gym.
- Members admitting non-members onto the premises, without proper/ prior permission, may have their memberships suspended or revoked. Non-compliance with regulations or sharing access to non members may also result in membership being revoked.
- Milltown Fitness Suite is a smoke free area, smoking is also prohibited inside the community centre building
- Food, chewing gum and sugary drinks are also prohibited in the gym with the exception of isotonic drinks which MUST be in resealable containers/bottles. Clean up any liquid spills.
- Please bring all waste with you when leaving the fitness suite, WE DO NOT have a waste collection service in the facility
- Milltown GAA will not accept any responsibility for any lost or stolen property so valuables / mobile phones / jewelry / money etc. should be carefully stored for gym users

How you can help us!

Please report any defective equipment, maintenance or safety issues
immediately. Do not use any equipment if in doubt of your safety.
- Use of photographic equipment (Cameras/ Smart phones/ etc.) to record members without their consent is not permitted. There is CCTV in place to ensure your safety and security of the facilitiy is monitored by the management committee on an ongoing basis.
- In the interests of safety, appropriate athletic attire and footwear should be
worn (no dress shoes or open toe sandals permitted).
- Milltown GAA have anti bacterial spray and wipes availalbe, please remember to CLAYGO - Clean As You Go by wiping equipment if someone is looking to use after you
- Please ensure no towels, mats, or gym equipment are left lying out of place as a trip hazard to other members using the gym. Please practice GOOD HOUSEKEEPING before and after your gym session as we don't have full time staff to clean up after you!
- Please practice courtesy and consideration for other users of the community hub facility at all times.
- As above, if you notice any equipment is missing, damaged or defective, please report this at the earliest possible opportunity.
Your health, safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance
- All equipment must be used in the manner for which it is designed. Do not
attempt to modify equipment. Please follow usage guidelines and instructions.
- If you are unsure of how to use a piece of equipment, PLEASE ASK before use, DO NOT put yourself in risk of injury
- A ‘spotting partner’ is recommended for weight training, especially using the squat racks, bench press. There are safety bars also available for safer heavy weight lifting exercises on the squat racks and barbell benches.
- As above, weights, mats and skipping ropes & other equipment MUST BE replaced in their
correct position after use.
- Weight bars, plates and dumbbells must not be
dropped, stood on, propped against walls or other equipment. All plates should be stored on wall pegs as provided after use
- Extreme caution to be exercised when lifting weights to avoid injury. Top
loading additional weights onto existing weight stacks is unsafe and not recommended without appropriate assistance.

that protect the health, safety and welfare of the users of this facility
